#Avengersreadathon2019

Stop rubbing your eyes, you read that right. This slightly of kilter loony has decided to add another readathon. Not only that it started 2 weeks ago and I’m only signing up now… normal normal things, that normal normal people do… right?

So this readathon was created by The Perks of Being Noura.

  • There are 18 different S.H.I.E.L.D assignment. Each designed after an Avengers character.
  • Each challenge has different prompts.
  • Readathon starts April 14 to May 14
  • You can choose to do any of the challenges (maximum 2).
  • All books are included (audiobooks, ebooks, fanfiction, graphic novels, comics, etc)
  • Post your TBR using the hashtag #Avengersreadathon19 (on twitter, blogs, instagram)

Since I am jumping into this readathon half way through I am going to focus on completing one character assignment. For this I have chosen…

As you can see there are 4 prompts for Spiderman himself plus choosing one assignment from Ironman’s list and one from either Shuri or Thor’s Lists.

The first prompt for Spiderman’s Assignments is The Amazing Spiderman, for this prompt a graphic Novel/Comic book needs to be chosen.

Therefore I am going to choose to read ‘The Cucumber Quest: The Ripple Kingdom’ By Gigi D.G.

This is a middle grade graphic novel and even though I have so many other graphic novels and comics that I really want to read, I need to get to this one first.

The second prompt is OSCORP for this readers completing Spiderman’s assignment need to revisit a favourite book. Honestly this one was easy.

I have decided to continue with my Harry Potter reread and incorporate it into this readathon.

I am currently reading ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’ By J.K. Rowling.

Anyone who knows me knows how much I love Harry Potter!

For the Spiderman Prompt readers need to read a book with a character with a secret identity.

For this I have chosen to start the Spider-Gwen comics that I have been slowly accumulating starting with (for the purpose of this readathon) ‘Spider-Gwen: Greater Power’

Super excited to get into these comics.

The Peter Parker prompt is the last prompt in Spiderman’s Assignments which has readers choosing a Young Adult book.

For this I have chosen to read ‘The Fever King’ By Victoria Lee.

I’ve already started this one and I am really keen to finish it.

In addition to Spiderman’s assignments to complete this readathon readers needed to choose a prompt from Ironman’s assignment list.

For this one I chose Tony’s Suit, which asks for a book with red on the cover.

‘Queen of Shadows’ By Sarah J. Maas fits this prompt perfectly, which is fantastic as I have already started and am loving this read.

Finally readers choose a prompt from either Shuri or Thor’s list. I went with Thor (obviously) and chose the prompt Norse Mythology.

For this I thought it would be more than appropriate to finally start the ‘Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard’ series with the first book ‘The Sword of Summer’ By Rick Riordan,

I am more than excited to jump into this readathon. I may be late, but better than not starting at all right?

Let me know if you are participating in the #Avengersreadathon2019!
